A Piano Vocal Guitar book (PVG) is a music book mainly for piano and keyboard, but also has guitar chords
The very top line is guitar chords and you can see the chords in the example above, although sometime just the chord names are given. If you are a guitarist then you would be much better with a guitar tab book.
The top line of music is the vocal line and has the lyrics underneath.
The bottom two music lines are for the piano or keyboard, the first of which is for the right hand and the lower one for the left hand.
