Back To The Blues is a special two-part series exploring the finer points of contemporary blues guitar playing and features exciting live performances by Robben's powerful trio, The Blue Line, with Roscoe Beck on bass and Tom Brechtlein on drums.

In Part 1, Robben demonstrates rhythm playing and improvising ideas for both major and minor blues along with an in-depth look at the song 'Livin' In A Fool's Paradise', a unique blues popularized by Robben and the band. He also talks about returning to play blues and his role in the trio as well as offering a wealth of insight on his success in modern music.

In Part 2, Robben talks about and demonstrates how to be more melodic using triads, good phrasing, and simplicity. He demonstrates comping and soloing over a swing blues and one-chorded blues vamp.
