Alfred’s Artist series brings the improvisational stylings of guitarist Frank Gambale to guitarists everywhere. The DVD follows the success of Gambale’s first acoustic trio recording, Natural High, featuring Otmaro Ruiz on piano, Alain Caron on bass, and Gambale on acoustic guitar.

After blowing through seven jaw-dropping performances with his world-class band, Gambale sits down for a candid one-on-one session about jazz improvisation, utilizing a series of ideas for improvising over classic II-V progressions using 3rds and 7ths, chord extensions, Phrygian mode, super Locrian mode, and diminished ideas. Gambale incorporates rhythmic and melodic motifs and much more.
